Why do you invest in altcoins over bitcoin ?

Why do you invest in altcoins over bitcoin ? Is it because of expectation of higher returns ?

I prefer Bitcoin only for investment. But I can feel why some investors are more intrested in investing in alt coins. This is because, these people are looking for higher gains which is possible in alt coins.
